I never have been a small fluffy dog fan - but just look at her - cute squared!!! And of course the most important thing - Damian isn't allergic to her. He has to shower immediately after playing with Aine.

Tash made me a b'day cake....by herself and surprised me with it. Milo flavoured base with choc frosting and peppermint chocolate crumbled on top. Love ya Tash! Such a good cake.

Tash's birthday was full of awesome coolness...one of her gifts was an excellent weird science beauty salon kit....she made me a "sublime slime mask" for my nose.

weekend whirlwind

how fast do the weekends fly by...seriously! we moved boulders most of the day at damian's parents place and built a stone bridge so the tractor can cross the gully - not a huge bridge but still very heavy going regardless. the photo doesn't really do the size of it justice, the bridge is deep and wide enough to hold the weight of the tractor without sinking!...we are pretty chuffed with our work - Yipyar!

then off to the dayboro show on saturday arvo with tash for a sideshow alley ride or two and some games and really bad food (dagwood dogs) Aine had most of mine so she was a happy wolfhound!

sunday we broke out the bbq despite the threatening rain and had a great lunch with my folks and damian's, then a walk around the property, some heavy drinking in the arvo with a movie then bed. aine is still really tired this morning, she's getting old (for a wolfhound) and had to take a break in the middle of her brekky, the poor old chook - as we left for work today she was still getting solar powered on the veranda *.*

that's the condensed version, i'm at work rebuilding computers (mini industrial players) and have to run....

i'm now bespectacled...due to longsightedness (is that a word?). i like my new specs...mum unsurprisingly wasn't fussed cos both pairs are black...that amuses me no end, seriously was i ever going to get any other colour!! but from a purely vain perspective i think they're cool and so does damian and tash...and even better - i can see normally again - YIPYAR!

friday on my mind

at last it's friday...it's been a big week, we've spread ourselves thin between work and family...end of financial year and school holidays...oh the horror!!

i'm looking forward to doing a bit of cleaning up this weekend and doing some painting...actually i think it'll turn out that Damian will do most of the cleaning, and i'll make a mess painting.

we moved into my (late) uncle's old farmhouse last year and we've been doing a little bit of renovation, just when time permits and nothing mind boggling. we ripped out the old kitchen and put in one from ikea, stainless steel bench top and black laminate cupboards under, way cool! i love ikea's modular furniture...we painted the walls and put up timber blinds and that's about it so far...we're down to painting the laundry/toilet and bathroom....the laundry is my mission tomorrow...hopefully i might have a little helper too (tash) that's if she's not off with Aine making mischief.

then i'm hoping for a bbq dinner and some wine or rum or something else to make me squiffy...

sunday remains unplanned so far, maybe it'll be a clean up day or maybe/hopefully we'll go for a drive....i'd like to go to somerset dam again...haven't been in ages and it's full now. it's also been drizzly this week and if it on sunday then i might get some nice foggy photos aaahhhhh

coffee and coasters

some days i feel like the gunge that sticks your coffee mug to your coaster....today's not one of those days!

work is busy (end of financial year) and as usual everyone has turned into a pumpkin head at the 11th hour, but somehow i'm remaining calm and i feel quite happy.

it's starting to get cold at home, 7 degrees and raining this morning so qld winter is setting in.

my old horse is snuggly in her new winter rug but despite it is still really woolly - she looks like a monster shetland, i do love the woolly old girl ♥

there's a plan afoot for a bbq with friends this weekend which i'm REALLY (yes capitals) looking forward too, cos we don't get to socialise as often as we want.

speaking of which we are trying to think of ways to work smarter to free up more time....more thoughts on that later...

about time

i've never had a blog, i should have started one long ago....i'll try and post stuff regularly, tho our lives are very busy, add to that a 12yo with her own busy social life and you may see some gaps along the way!
